4/7/22. I tested negative for COVID-19 again! The vaccinations appear to remain a fortress against this dreaded disease. The test results mark a strange and new kind of victory, another day of an uneasy success. Here we are, two years plus into this onslaught. I look down at the mask hanging from my neck and wonder… When. Will. It. End? So, how would I live in a pandemic-free world, and can I begin to do that today?
COVID has attacked the routines of daily living and violated our love for the familiar. Naturally, we long for things to return to normal, but instead of a return to normal, how about starting over? Starting over embraces living in love with the future—including the dreams, fantasies and hopes that become your goals and plans.

I Am Fred Stevens
Ask me what my secret power is, and I will tell you that it is self-reflection. My inner world absorbs me in deep and emotionally rewarding ways. The quest for meaning in life remains a chief vocation.
I have known privileged living as well as journeys into regions of my via negativa, my shadow side. I know where from I speak in this written work. To borrow from one of my many teachers, this is the way, the truth and the life, at least for me. To borrow from a handful of others, I live for the future and this puts me in the eternal moment of the here and now. I live a blessed and abundant life.
Many years have passed since I first began research in human relations. I investigated how feelings of hurt and vulnerability impact the choices we make in our most intimate relationships. I had created and successfully tested a way to measure this impact. Since its publication, my fascination with these feelings has led me to accept how all of what we call ‘feelings’ make up the true vectors of the entire universe as we know it.
Scientific findings, major religions and spiritual traditions each address in their own way the nature of these feeling-energies. They are as divine a reference point to our existence as they are quantum. I am blessed to understand this. May you be blessed as well.
